Children
Children are the future of Africa
Children are the most affected by poverty, diseases and civil wars in African countries. They are often severely traumatised by the loss and care of their sick or injured parents. They suddenly bear full responsibility for themselves and often also for their younger siblings. In order to make ends meet, they have to take on any kind of work, often living on the street because relatives are appropriating their inheritance or land.
There is no time or money for school and education. Some of the children have been infected with HIV by their mothers. Further impoverishment and social exclusion are the result. For the orphans, childhood is over. They have no chance of a self-determined future.
Aktion Canchanabury has set itself the goal of giving these children the courage to face life and prospects again and has developed a sponsorship program for this purpose. We support projects in various African countries to promote the psychological, social, educational and medical support of orphans.
